Discovering Sanctity of Life with Kids

Hey support fam! Hope life is going well for you all this summer! Phoebe and I have been busy preparing for one of our busiest weeks out of the summer: The week of Vacation Bible School (VBS) or otherwise known as Summer Kid’s Club at Shiloh Church. We are beyond excited to see so many kids gather together at Shiloh to learn about the God of the Bible who loves each of them so much.

This year’s VBS theme is “Sanctity of Life.” I find this theme to be so fitting especially during our time right now where people can’t agree on whose life has value. Just look at the book of Genesis. God declares taht all life has value. Genesis 1:27 says, “God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.” What a joy it will be to share with these kids that their life has value because God created them. God created them wonderfully each in their own way.

Further, one big focus for Phoebe, myself, and other vbs coordinators was establishing our goals. This year we have three goals that we’ve been striving after. The goals include discipleship, outreach, and community building. These goals are intertwined in that we want to reach people with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. That is our big hope for the vbs week is that we, as leaders, could share with the kids and the parents how much God loves them and that their life has value.

Like I said earlier, we are beyond excited for this opportunity to serve the community of Rapid City and surrounding areas through a fun event like vbs is. We are praising God too for the amount of people who have stepped up big time in wanting to be a part of this congregational event to serve.

I wanted to quick say thanks to for all of you who have praying for us.  We are so thankful for you all and of course God’s blessings to us. Friendly reminder too that if you would like to give to us, use the give tab at the top of the page and select Isak Olson. Thanks support fam!!!
