The Light of the World

Hi friends and support family! I want to use this specific blog post to talk about one important ministry that I have had the opportunity to be a part of. Never in my world of opportunities did I think I would end up teaching confirmation with another intern this Sunday School year. At Shiloh, confirmation has taken place Sunday mornings during the Sunday school hour before the worship service. It has been a challenge at times to keep the kids awake during class, but Hunter and I have been able to figure that part out for the most part…I think.

What an opportunity it has been though! Hunter and I have had the privilege to teach six to nine kids about different biblical doctrines that we believe as Christians. It has been so fun to see the light bulb go on in their heads when they realize what something means or why we believe what we believe. Some of our favorite conversations with the kids during Confirmation hour has been teaching about justification and sanctification, double imputation, and baptism. It is amazing how many questions young students of God’s word will ask that really spark good, deep conversations.

The next two Sundays will be a major step for these confirmation students as they get confirmed. My prayer for them is that they would live out what they have learned. Further that they would be able to defend their faith in a world that doesn’t believe in that. I pray that they would live out Psalm 27:1 which says, “The Lord is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the defense of my life; Whom shall I dread?” Please be in prayer for these students and other young people who are being confirmed as they live in a world as Christians. God is so good. Praise Him for His marvelous work in young people’s lives!!

Again, continue to be in prayer for the children’s ministry and youth ministry here at Shiloh. VBS is coming soon in July so pray for all of the preparation for the coordinators and all who will be involved. Pray for the kids that come and as they hear the Gospel. The next blog post will cover more on VBS and what is happening with that.

Thank you again support family for supporting Phoebe and I so well through your prayers and financially. We are so thankful for you all and of course God’s blessings to us. Friendly reminder too that if you would like to give to us, use the give tab at the top of the page and select Isak Olson. Thanks support fam!!!
